City of Detroit

Dr. Bell led staff development for several years at Detroit’s Water and Sewerage and Senior Citizens Departments. Dr. Bell and Dr. Bell-Ross spearheaded a city-wide tutoring program, preparing over 1,000 adults for math and mechanical reasoning tests as part of our workforce development. Currently, we partner with the City to administer NOF-ARPA grants, providing funding and technical assistance to grassroots nonprofits. Our extensive work includes leadership coaching, team building, conflict management, and more, demonstrating our comprehensive impact on the city’s workforce and community development initiatives

Dr. Bell provided Cultural Diversity training for managers and supervisors.  The training used custom scenarios that were updated and delivered annually over a period of 3 years.  The goal was to improve engagement and positive interaction among employees and among departments.

We provide leadership coaching (one-on-one and small group), problem-solving sessions, harassment training, and team-building activities, all designed to align efforts with organizational goals and foster a collaborative work environment.

Dr. Bell and Dr. Bell-Ross led a team of experts in designing and delivering custom training, coaching, consulting, retreats, and conferences to Ford personnel. For over 15 years, these services were provided at Ford headquarters, offices, manufacturing facilities, financial services, dealerships, and offsite venues. Aligning with Ford's goals, we offered leadership programs to enhance communication, collaboration, problem-solving, trust-building, customer service, and workplace relationships. Additionally, we developed workforce and career development programs.

Dr. Bell oversaw Cultural Competency initiative for 1,500+ employees in 5 counties: designing and conducting training needs assessments and developing actionable recommendations. Dr. Bell-Ross facilitated training at locations across the state.

Dr. Bell developed and delivered hands-on Technical Writing workshops for management and employees to refresh and update skills.

Dr. Bell oversaw development and facilitation of Women In Leadership workshops. Training helped emerging women leaders identify strengths and opportunities and prepared them to overcome hurdles that prevent women from gaining entrance into the highest levels of the organization.

Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation (a Michigan Works! agency): Dr. Bell and Dr. Bell-Ross collaborated with business and community partners to create a culturally competent, city-wide Math Mechanical Reasoning tutoring program to assist 1,000 job seekers in Detroit. Program prepared participants for entrance tests for entry-level production positions.

Dr. Bell delivered a keynote at NASA's Occupational Health Conference, focusing on Technical Communications and High-Impact Presentations for regional leaders before a space shuttle launch. She utilized her expertise to enhance the communication skills and preparedness of NASA’s leadership team, showcasing her ability to provide crucial training in high-stakes environments.

Dr. Bell-Ross designed and facilitated leadership training series for frontline production supervisors. She collaborated with company SMEs to create Supervisor Training series focused on quality standards, processes, and protocols.

Dr. Bell-Ross consults with top leadership at the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, advising on policy revisions and providing ongoing training in Sexual Harassment prevention. We train leaders at all levels and include this training as a standard part of new recruit orientation, tailored specifically for law enforcement.

For over 20 years, Dr. Bell and team created custom programs, facilitated retreats, and provided conference speakers for UAW-represented employees. These programs, specifically developed with role plays and scenarios within the employee’s workplace, include Skills Improvement, Hands-On Classes, Workplace Violence Prevention, Harassment Prevention, People Skills, Team Building, Respectful Workplace, Inclusive Teams, and Cultural Diversity.
